Since the release of their debut album, Seattle art-rock band Among Authors have received critical acclaim for both their recordings and poignant live performances. Bob Boilen of NPR Music (Founder of NPR Tiny Desk) recently said: “I was stunned by the rock band Among Authors and its original take on music that’s akin to Radiohead and explosive art rock.“ KEXP also wrote: “If you haven’t heard the name Among Authors yet, you’re about to hear it a lot. The Seattle-based band are on a hot streak after the release of their debut album, I Am Become, last year. Thanks, in part to Kevin Cole’s support of the band but, mostly, from the incredible music they make. Their take on atmospheric art-rock is something few are doing at the moment and they are doing it very very well.” This show is part of Among Authors' national tour which includes a performance on NPR's Tiny Desk.
Seattle-based alt-rock / emo-pop known for reflective storytelling and energetic live shows.
“The musicality is technically impressive, but the songs feel very human. The lyrics are melancholy, but the EP is an uplifting sonic experience. Do this as a test: Walk down the street while listening to this EP, and see if it doesn't compel you to smile at a stranger, or feel a little lighter, or take in the world around you with a little more warmth. In summary, Happy Heartbreak reaches a new level of brilliance with a fantastic EP full of songs that could fit into any playlist. Put this music in the soundtrack of your life.”
