Opioid Overdose Prevention Training for Bartenders

Saturday, February 17th, 2018 at 1pm at Cactus Club
Free / 21+ / Bars must register by February 3rd

TRAINERS:
Prevention Specialists from AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW) LifePoint Needle Exchange Program

GOAL:
No deaths or overdoses in our bars. We must be prepared to take care of one another and our communities.

ABOUT THE TRAINING:
-Bartenders/bar-staff will be trained on how to identify an opioid overdose, how to respond before EMTs arrive, and how to administer preventative opioid overdose agents (injection & nasal spray).
-By participating in this training, each bar will receive FREE naloxone (generic form of Narcan) to keep at your bar in case of emergency, courtesy of ARCW.
-Each business should send at least 2 bar-staff to training.
-Bartenders will be responsible for going back to their respective bars and instructing their co-workers on how to administer naloxone (train-the-trainer model).

REGISTRATION:
-Email kellyktodd80@gmail.com to register your group. Please include your bar’s name in the subject line!
-Room for 25 bars to participate in the training. Each bar should commit to 2 staff members as representatives
-Register your bar by Saturday, February 3rd to ensure enough supplies are ordered
-Free / No cost
-Southside-focused but open to any Milwaukee-area bar
