“My Heart Is An Open Field,” the debut record from Chicago indie-pop quartet Tenci, is full of nuance. Breaths of saxophone and flute, and touches of cello, piano, and pedal steel are hung on the sturdy folk songs of bandleader Jess Shoman, whose vibrato and range cuts through the dreamy arrangements.
