Flat Teeth

(Milwaukee )
Genre: Indie Rock

Drawing on the more melodic side of 90s indie rock and emo, the band’s music recalls the sounds of everyone from The Get Up Kids and Mock Orange to darker and moodier acts like No Knife and Cursive. Interlocking guitars, layered vocal harmonies and driving rhythms are all present in the band’s output. Those seeking straightforward and energetic songwriting will find much to enjoy in Flat Teeth.

Chris Rosenau

(Milwaukee)
Genre: Experimental
Chris Rosenau is a guitarist and founding member of the seminal instrumental post-rock band Pele, genre-blurring collective Collections of Colonies of Bees, and experimental rock band Volcano Choir, alongside Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, as well as one half of the improvisational duo Rosenau & Sanborn with Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso. For nearly three decades, he has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Japan. His music draws from the roots of Americana, filtering them through modern composition, experimentation, and technology. Drawing on the physicality of acoustic instruments, the possibilities of electronics, and an expansive sense of space, Rosenau has developed a musical language that is as warm and melodic as it is searching and expansive.
For this set, Rosenau leaves his typical setup behind, reworking familiar musical instincts through an entirely different set of materials. Stripped of familiar tools and habits, the music opens into a more elemental space: acoustic, tactile, and exploratory, with moments of deep resonance and physical weight, while retaining the warmth, melody, and sense of discovery that run through his work.
