Show Lineup

Body Futures

(Milwaukee, WI)
Genre: Indie Rock

Milwaukee mathy power-pop indie rockers RETURN! and introduce new bass player Evan Gritzon! First Milwaukee show since Summer 2018!
“Similar to 2014’s Brand New Silhouettes, 2018’s Maybe it’s Just the Weather’s draw is twofold: there’s the band’s loud and noisy sound, full of big guitars, big drums, knotty rhythms, and a single-minded disdain for current trends. (Are openers “Criminal Standards” and “Another Broken String” catchy-as-hell rock songs? Yes. Do they sound like anything else on commercial or indie radio today? Nah.)” – Milwaukee Record

Genre: Garage Rock
Stomatopod kicks off 2022 with the release of their third LP, “Competing With Hindsight,” which was written during the COVID lockdown and recorded (fully masked) at Electrical Audio by Steve Albini. The band (Elliot Dicks, drums; John Huston, vocals/guitar; and Sharon Maloy, bass/backing vocals) all bring a unique component to the songwriting process. There’s some ‘60s psychedelic garage, ‘70s heavy riff-rock, ‘80s underground fuzz-pop and ’90s grunge. If Stomatopod was a cake, you’d make it with a helping of 13th Floor Elevators, a dab of Uriah Heep, a schmear of the Wipers, 2 cups Husker Du and a heaping tablespoon of Mudhoney.
