Cactus Club Moving Image series (Moving Image) is a monthly film series presented by Cactus+, an artist-centered organization for multimedia arts education and community building that champions accessibility, inclusivity and sustainability in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We aspire to create an environment conducive to highlighting multilingual, multigenerational, experiential films followed by community conversation, and critical engagement. We do this by showing work that takes risks, challenges norms, and opens a conversation by devoting to showcase a wide range of artist-driven and independent media.  As a series, we hope to offer a free to low-cost space to engage with film and cinema.. To ensure that the series remains multifaceted, the monthly programs will be curated by both Cactus+ staff, community partners, and guest curators.

As the Moving Image programmer your role is to create monthly programming that aligns with the values and vision of the Moving Image series of Cactus+. In this role you will build relationships with community members and partners through guest curation and collaboratively organized events. The Cactus Club Independent Film Festival will run August 8-11, 2024. Preparation for this event begins in the spring.
