Join us to hear from multidisciplinary artist and ITC 2026 artist-in-residence Lee Judilla/Midwest Cyborg.

In conversation with Caesar Nguyen (b. 2004, Houston, TX), EMT-B, a multidisciplinary artist investigating systems and part of the Milwaukee-based art collective, Barrel O’ Monkeys

The two will explore: the evolution of their art-making through community engagement, organizing, arts education, and the experience of the ITC residency; the importance of heritage, dreaming, fantasy, storytelling in arts practice; intersectionality between Asian identity + queerness + neurodivergence; approaching creative practice sustainably, healing from generational illusions, seeking wellness as a means of achieving an equitable future; and Lee’s storytelling/moving image event Salimbal, taking place at CC Sunday 8/23.

Lee Judilla is a Filipino-American, queer multimedia artist, arts educator, and androgynoid. Using dreams, desire, and fantasy as vehicles to drive creative momentum, Lee processes their work through two matrices: as Midwest Cyborg, they interplay with photography, collage, writing/poetry, design, film, costume and other mediums; as HALSYON INDUSTRIES, they root themselves in the work of community organizing, arts education and exchange, curation and self-publishing for the underrepresented, devoted to cooking for and nourishing individuals in the process. In synthesizing these two personas, Lee transfigures their most intimate wishes for health, justice, and safety into storytelling and action.
