The idea slowly germinating… drummer Dan (Nuge) Neuschwander (Cuda, Grotto, Twelve Gauge Pump) and guitarist Mathew Marks (Chron, Twelve Gauge Pump), longtime friends who had been cultivating riff upon riff for many years, finally lay the seeds of that which would become Plant.
Cory Divine (Birth of Tragedy) and Nuge had discussed one day forming a band since their days of playing shows together at the infamous O’Cayz Corral as early as 1999. In 2019, the timing was right. Shortly after, the crushing bass tones of Jeremiah Wolfgang (Tierra de Nadie, The Hatekrusher) would join the fold, and the elements had fully aligned.
Drawing influence from the masters themselves (Black Sabbath, Mountain, Pentagram) along with the intensity and vibe of Unsane, Today is the Day, Soilent Green, and High on Fire, Plant is rooted in heavy blues, psychedelic chaos, and unrelenting head nodding grooves.
The drought has severed the earth, the winds have ravaged, fire has burned the plains, yet the roots run deep. Plant is becoming.
