Mama’s Broke is a powerful duo that deliver a compelling performance with heart and raw energy. Although highly influenced by their Canadian roots, Lisa and Amy are based out of nowhere and everywhere.
Their two strong voices blend to create haunting harmonies, while they artfully juggle fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin, and incorporate traditional dance and foot percussion into their performance. Their original -and often dark- compositions push the boundaries of tradition and the constraints of genre. Drawing from old-time, Quebecois, blues, punk, celtic, balkand and doom metal, they create a soundscape that is both familiar and new.

Their new self-titled album, Creekbed Carter, is both creed and archive, formed from the eccentric preoccupations of a messy Catholic childhood that have been crafted into a dazzling, troubling, and ultimately wondrous collection of songwriting.
This 10 track record draws from the intimacy and precision of Hogan’s live shows to build a new landscape for queer folk and country. Familiar spirits haunt these songs – Roger Miller, Bobbie Gentry, Elliott Smith, Karen Dalton – but ultimately, Hogan’s music emanates from the force of their own desires. Clever, searing, bald, and true, Creekbed Carter is, above all, an act of resilience: a flaming sword that both creator and listener can use to cut their way out and through, together.

If you’re ever tossing a line in on the Milwaukee river, you may be lucky enough to hear the strings of Bitch Creek coming down from Vienna Avenue. Formed in 2024 in a Riverwest bar, Bitch Creek fell quickly in love and began cultivating their distinct sound: a blend of melancholic finger-style guitar, eerie fiddle licks, earthy vocals, and droning string sections.
Bitch Creek’s self-titled EP, Bitch Creek, shares an intimate translation of queer love and identity, midwest scenery, nostalgia for places only visited in dreams, and harmonies to accompany the delicate and dissonant hum of Cicadas.
Bitch Creek combines traditional folk influences with contemporary lyrical inspirations into a whirlwind of unique alt-country.
