Spaced

(Buffalo, NY)
Genre: Hardcore

Spaced is Lexi Reyngoudt (vocals), Joe Morganti (guitar), Donny Arthur (guitar), John Vaughan
(bass) and Dan McCormick (drums).

Spaced live up to their name, blending hardcore with out of this world sounds to create an
explosive and hallucinogenic landscape. Originally formed in 2019, the Buffalo, NY based band
would burst onto the scene in 2021 with their four-song demo, followed by the 2022 compilation,
Spaced Jams and a dual single in 2023, both on New Morality Zine. The band’s vitality and
unique take on the genre caught the attention of long-standing home to hardcore Revelation
Records, who will release Spaced’s new record, This Is All We Ever Get in March 2024. On the
album, the band pulls from a wide range of influences, while still staying centered around
individuality.

As the band expands:
“We’ve always had the intention of approaching hardcore with a traditional base—taking our
influence from bands like The Rival Mob, Suicidal Tendencies, Gorilla Biscuits, and so many
others—but adding textures and sounds that you might hear from bands like Sonic Youth, My
Bloody Valentine, The Cure, Swans, etc.
This release is our most confident work yet, and we feel stronger in what we’re doing with every
facet of the band. We want the riffs and vocals to hit and impact anyone who listens—whether
you’re discussing the record or a live setting—while adding reverb, flange, and delay in sections
to fulfill the “SPACED” sound. We’re continually shaping what that means for us, and look
forward to keep developing our sound in the hardcore space.”
Working with Jay Zubricky (Mindforce, Terror) at GCR Audio in Buffalo, NY, Spaced knocked
out recording over a few days in May 2023 and sent the album off for mastering with Will
Killingsworth (Orchid) at Dead Air Studios. The eight tracks on This Is All We Ever Get are
enthralling and dynamic, with the longest run time hitting two minutes and thirty seconds.
Opener “Landslide” leads with a huge bounce, as vocalist Lexi Reyngoudt’s shouty approach
drives off the band’s circling rhythms primed for side-to-side mosh. As the album continues,
punchy tracks lay between rich textures, like on the run from instrumental “AIATB” to the
powerful “Rat Race.” Dizzying riffs and distortion highlight “Cosmic Groove” as the crushing
chant of “I need I need I need I need, I need something to set me free. I know I know I know I
know, I’m feeling stuck inside your world,” hold as an anthem for the record. The band’s range
shines on closer “Running Man,” providing an impassioned delivery centered on breaking out of
the mindset of feeling stuck. And while the band’s lyrics may focus on inner-struggles, their
outward trajectory is continuing to ascend.

Spaced has quickly become one of the buzziest bands in the genre thanks to their blend of “far
out hardcore,” garnering praise from press including BrooklynVegan, Stereogum, and Revolver.
The band has been able to take their high-energy live show across North America and Europe,
performing alongside bands like The Armed, Snapcase, Gel, and Spy. With heavy touring plans
already on the docket for 2024, including a US run supporting Militarie Gun, Spaced are
continuing to assert themselves as a must see live act. Ringing true to the title of This Is All We
Ever Get, Spaced is set to hit the ground running on their own terms to make 2024 their year.
The band stresses, “We want to continue to express the importance of being ourselves and tell
the listener to either get with it or get out.”

CLIQUE

Genre: Hardcore

Not so much a band than it is the idea – that true power can come from those who are displaced to struggle in this fucked up world. The idea that we can number the days for those who exploit our peoples, degrade our cultures, and lay waste to the earth on which we rely.

CLIQUE is a California based project. Across three self-released EPs – the music, a punishing reminder of our hellish lives. Lyrical sonnets of revolutionary suggestion. The visuals, a desperate invitation to write our own future.

“Faster, young ones! The old world is dying. Flames to usher the dawn of a new day.”
