Qari

Qari, an influential rapper from Chicago, has been making waves in the music scene for close to a decade. Starting with Supreme Regime in 2012, he later co-founded the trio Hurt Everybody in 2014, establishing himself as one of the most impactful artists in Chicago. Qari’s collaborations with Hurt Everybody producer Mulatto Beats and rapper-producer GreenSllime have produced some of the best local hip-hop projects, including “Operation Hennessy” in 2019. Despite spending much of his career in groups, Qari has also released solo tracks, showcasing his soulful melodicism and introspective bars. His recent EP, “IGOTPROBLEMS,” emphasizes his unique style, combining rapid rapped verses with half-sung hooks delivered with a gentle caress.

NilexNile, an up-and-coming Milwaukee rapper, had a breakout 2022 that included a steady stream of great music videos, appearances at pretty much every major summer festival in the city, some shows out of state, a support slot with Pusha T, and a growing awareness from listeners both locally and far beyond. He performed at SXSW this past March and very recently had hometown headlining show at The Cactus Club.
