Senior Storytelling Project will be having its free, culminating event this Thursday, November 21st from 11:30am-1pm at Latino Arts Auditorium (1028 S 9th St, Milwaukee, WI 53204).

The Senior Storytelling Project was inspired by the need to create intergenerational spaces where older adults can autonomously share their stories. The goal of this project is to create a living archive of their stories, including: LGBTQ stories, immigration stories, and overall stories from Milwaukee over the years.

A group of elders from the United Community Center Senior Center gathered weekly with local artist, Paula Lovo to write stories and form scripts based on selected stories. The event will include a reading by local actors: Ashley Garcia, JC Valadez, and Maggie Marks with a Q&A to follow where audience members will be able to ask our storytellers any questions about their stories that are based off lived experiences.
