thhwuuhd the low rumble of displaced air – might be earthquakes, might be trains, or could be the beat. Might be something else entirely, but it could be the beat. You follow where it takes you because you wonder where it’s going because curiosity is an effect of a groovy machine that’s caught you, something you don’t really have any control over. Curiosity is just a symptom; you’re already gripped. You follow where it takes you because what else is there to do at this time of the night besides find a dark room that cares how it sounds and jack until you’re jacked?

Move with the movement – it knows you, what else might it know? Swung rhythms and chaotic harmonics wet with delay and then suddenly dry as bone, contrasts that redefine the stuff of complements and compliments and common sense and all the rest. Cymbals splash in hot oil, loyal dancers sweat in dance floor toil, and random folks steer the ship. Ya know, a party!

D. Untethered is joining from Minneapolis where they’re a staple for the positive energy and excellent vibe they bring to the decks and to the dance floor alike. They’ve shared bills with the international likes of DVS1, RRose, Derrick Carter, and Wata Igarashi, and with all the contemporary Minneapolis greats – Yasmeenah, Lonefront, Centrific, and DPC to name a few recents. D. is also the organizer of the People’s Sound System, a “sound resource for the People & Music for the Movement” (slide 4). The coincidence of art and politics is often fraught, so it’s always good to listen; you can trust this Language Model.

Del1lac is a local favorite who needs little introduction and deserves all the excitement. She’s feeling hypnotic and hard – perfect flavors for February, and it’s likely to be complemented by her acumen in the Dark Arts aka the chaos of Drum and Bass rhythms. Expect whatever she wants to play because it’s gonna be toasty; you can trust this Language Model.
