Born in 1994, Radontae Ashford, aka Wave Chapelle, is a hip-hop artist from the north side of Milwaukee who grew up on the sounds of Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Drake. In 2013, Wave made his debut with the mixtape It’ll All Make Sense Soon, and in early 2014 he signed on to Yo Gotti’s CMG record label, spending a few years learning from Gotti and performing all over the US and Canada. Wave has put out a steady stream of music over the last ten years, and in the fall of 2022, he partnered with the Milwaukee Bucks to become one of their official ambassadors. His music can be heard at every home game, and he has performed in front of Bucks fans at Fiserv Forum on multiple occasions. His newest album, Can’t Stop Won’t Stop, came out in early May. Wave is best known for songs like “Automatic”, “Built Different”, “Overtime”, and “Victory”. Wave has been busy this summer, performing all over Milwaukee at some of the biggest events in the city, along with out-of-town shows in Chicago and Atlanta.
4-piece psychedelic tropical band emerging from Chicago, Illinois and providing infectious rhythms since November of 2021. Guitar, bass, percussions, and organs meld seamlessly to deliver addictive dance instrumentals with an emphasis on melodic riffs and a driving rhythm section. Cabeza de Chivo incorprates multiple styles including cumbia, salsa, merengue, garage rock, surf, and dub.
Following up last year’s LP, Potatoe Boys, the band is back with a new 7″ of raw, anthemic nihilism. Yielding a sound all their own and an unhinged sense of humor to their music and lyrics, Cruelster shows once again just how fruitful a place Cleveland can be, birthing more hardcore left-of-center and nastier than the rest.
