Join us Wed May 3rd at 5:30 for Cactus Book Club. This month the Milwaukee Newspaper Guild will lead the conversation on News for All the People: the Epic Story of Race and the American Media by Juan González and Joseph Torres. Discussion will focus on chapters 3, 8-10, 12, 16-17. This acclaimed text “reveals how racial segregation distorted the information Americans have received, even as it depicts the struggle of Black, Latino, Asian, and Native American journalists who fought to create a vibrant yet little-known alternative, democratic press”.
