The mind-bending, multi-dimensional Calliope Musicals have garnered a cult-like devotion from fans throughout Texas and beyond with their unique brand of psycho-circus space rock. Hailed by NPR as a “perennial SXSW favorite,” the group’s avant-garde anthems, alongside their trademark blast of interactive secondhand glam, have made them standouts amongst their Austin peers. Fussell sums up the group (and perhaps all of human existence?) like this: “We came from space. We’re all going to die.”
SSAANN is a 4-piece, indie dream pop band from Milwaukee. Their songs spotlight duets of atmospheric guitar and lush synth forming a spacey escape. Echoing vocals paired with reflective lyrics cast an illuminating sound to create an effortless, easy-going feel. Expect laid-back yet driving drums, big bass, and cascading keys to make you want to “run to the woods and call your mom”.
