For fans of doom and gloom, Planning for Burial is the musical project of American musician and singer-songwriter Thom Wasluck. Based in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Wasluck started to perform as “Burial” in 2005 and released the debut album, Leaving in 2009. Wasluck plays all instruments during both his home recordings and live performances.
Winding together compositions that are fluid, dynamic and new, the Chicago-based trio STANDER forges their eclectic inspirations with a deep emotional core. Collapsing, their 2nd LP on The Garrote, finds stander push deep into vocal/lyrical territory this time, with lead vocals by Mike Boyd (guitar) and guest vocals by Erin Dawson (Genital Shame), Dylan Walker (Full of Hell) and John Kerr (Pyrithe). Additional instrumentation by Mathieu Ball (BIG|BRAVE) and Patrick Shiroishi.
Cannabinol Synapse is a project by Milwaukee based musician Jon Liedtke, exploring weird fidelities and atmospheric soundscapes, Started in 2010, this project has performed may live shows with the likes of noise and electronic acts, black metal and doom bands. A demo was recorded in late 2012, and at last the full length album, “Those Who Hear But Which Do Not See” was released in summer of 2015.
