Rat Bath

(Milwaukee, WI)
Genre: Punk

RAT BATH is a band of all trans-gender individuals that reclaim queer-coded villains from their childhood as heros in their storytelling and strive for visibility in the music industry. They describe their sound as “Post-Everything Rat Core” but have also been called Bubble Grunge, Alternative Emo, Dirt Americana and Melodic Hardcore. Which ever way you slice it; they are fast, loud, and have a unique ability to seamlessly blend influences together.

Their freshman album Rat From Hell is considered to be Vocalist, Fred’s autobiography and was named one of The Milwaukee Record’s best albums of 2022. The shift in sound between tracks highlight the different ways trauma manifests in one’s life ranging from anger, vengeance, grief, romanticism, and finally, catharsis.

Their second studio album Call Me a Monster, otherwise known as their “Murder Country Rock Opera,” showcases inspiration from both mid-century Outlaw Country and Y2K style Emo and Post-Hardcore.
The sophomore album once again earned Milwaukee Record’s recognition as one of the best albums of 2023 as well as national recognition, marking a new era in the quickly expanding “Y’allternative” movement in 2020’s independent music.

Sunday Cruise

(Elgin, IL)
Genre: Indie Rock

Sunday Cruise is an Indie/emo band from Elgin, IL. Comprised of Zoe (vox, guitar), Cassidy (bass), Levi (drums), and Camden (lead guitar). Their first self titled EP was released in 2018. In 2019 the group released a few singles including “Sunflower” followed by “Falling” and “Friday night”. After a slight hiatus the current group was formed and wrote their first full length album “Am I Pretty?” (2020). This coming of age album deals with the reality of the hardships and insecurities that many teens may face today, whether it be wanting to meet someone else’s expectations, sexuality, relationships, or the struggle with mental health and constant feelings of loneliness. This somber tone is met with upbeat pop punk instrumentals to depict the way we mask these struggles from our peers. follow @sundaycruiseband on insta. merch link in the bio !

Barely Civil

(Milwaukee, WI)
Genre: Emo, Indie Rock
I’ll Figure This Out, Barely Civil’s sophomore full-length, offers temporary solutions to this existential concern. With Chris Teti (TWIABP, Fiddlehead) joining as producer, the band’s massive live energy translates into concise, yet expansive arrangements. “Box for My Organs” slams sonic triumph against plainspoken self-doubt. Grief and guilt are on the same plane in “Bottom of the Lake,” while the band contemplates the sustainability of burning their twenties at both ends on “The Worst Part of December.”

“I feel like our music revolves around the process of analyzing who we are and where we come from,” Erickson explains. “Possibly, even, where we belong.” I’ll Figure This Out attempts to answer those questions while turning completely inward. It’s a darker chapter in a constantly evolving discography. The only way out, it seems, is through.
