Your host Cole Kirkendall will guide you through fundamentals of photography and animation, and walk participants through the free software Stop Motion Studio.

Explore the importance of camera settings (ISO, shutter speed, white balance, etc), image making techniques (rule of thirds), and animation and puppet fabrication tips. Ease in and outs, animation movement timing related to frame rates, keeping your objects tied down when animating.

After some slides, it’s free time to be creative. Participants can use provided materials (or bring your own) to fabricate puppets and sets, and then animate at their stations. Perfect activity for friends and families, to spend time crafting and creating characters, and hopefully collaborate on an idea for a short film!
Thanks to a grant from Wispact we are able to provide free admission to disabled, chronically ill, and/or neurodivergent community members. Select the free admission option on the registration link to claim your voucher.
