The Whiffs

The Whiffs formed in April of 2016 in Kansas City, MO. Zach Campbell and Rory Cameron had been playing shows throughout the years in different bands in KC and Lawrence, KS and knew each other peripherally. After Zach moved to Kansas City they quickly realized their shared love of Power Pop and 60’s Rock & Roll ala The Beatles and Stones but also bands like the Nerves, Dwight Twilley, Nick Lowe, and Elvis Costello to name a few. After enlisting Jake Cardwell on drums they began touring frequently. After playing a slew of shows at SXSW they met Joe Montanaro of The Rubs from Chicago. Both bands began touring together with the Whiffs backing Joe as The Rubs playing sets back to back every night. Joe shortly moved to Kansas City and they began recording while still often playing short tours throughout the Midwest and the South.
