6:45 – 7:15 – Demo #1 – Ableton’s Audio to Midi conversion

Presentation by Donnie Echo
Donnie Echo is a synth engineer known mostly for his upstart in local indie rock band North Warren.
Donnie will share with the group, how to use Ableton’s Audio to Midi conversion on melodic, harmonic and percussive elements.

7:30 – 8:00 – Demo #2 – The Cello + Ableton Live

Presentation by Tony Baloney
Tony will share with the group, his use of midi-mapping the Keith McMillan Softstep 2 to control to apply Live FX to his cello. Not only can it be used as an FX pedal, but can also control Ableton playback. He plans to share a couple sets of FX, and how to transition between scenes, all from the pedal.

8:15 – 8:45 – Demo #3 – Ableton Note iOS app

Presentation by Martin Defatte (aka Tron Jovi of Guerrilla Ghost)
Marty will share how he’s been using the Ableton Note iOS app to sketch out ideas for songs, and then finish them in Ableton Live. If time permits, we’ll show how to use an M4L extension called “Song Sketch” to take Ableton Note loops and arrange new songs quickly.

Donnie Echo is a synth engineer known mostly for his upstart in local indie rock band North Warren. Donnie co-runs a studio in Milwaukee, Golfshoe Music, that has Ableton Live seamlessly and wirelessly connected to their entire synth collection.

Tony Balony

(Milwaukee)
Genre: Indie Rock

Tony is an avid synth user, a new Ableton user and is a cellist and vocalist for the WAMI-nomiated folk rock group, Chris Haise Band. Tony has also received his second 2023 WAMI nomination for string player of the year.

Tron Jovi

(Milwaukee, WI)
Genre: Electronic

Tron Jovi is the studio project of Milwaukee-based musician and producer, Martin Defatte. During an extended hiatus from playing in punk and hardcore bands, Defatte became enthralled with the work of Prefuse 73, Madlib and MF Doom. Over the next 15+ years, Defatte honed his own production and engineering skills, learning the basics of sequencers, samplers and software based production workstations. After assembling a home recording studio, to capture his friends’ music, he revisited his past as an electronic producer.
