A beacon of compassion, Samantha-Jo Wilsing was known by many in the Milwaukee arts and music community.  Unfortunately, her infectious laugh and endless support left us too soon.  On August 25th, we celebrate her life with the release of a memorial tape.  The tape features all of Samie-Jo’s recordings, as well as tracks from her close friends: Temple, Social Caterpillar, snag, Live Tetherball Tonight, Statures, Siren, AmphetaJeans, BFF, and Moaded.  Tapes will be available for purchase for $6.  Recommended $10 donation for entry.  All proceeds from tape and door sales will benefit Sixteenth Street Community Health Center, who continuously provides multifaceted medical, dental, and behavioral health care to those in need in the Greater Milwaukee area.

Show Lineup

Gentle Heat

Genre: Indie Rock

Gentle Heat is a Chicago based band whose post-punk roots flower effortlessly into a dreamy pop. Noise, disunion, and transience are subtle textures in a broader sound that is beautifully moody and airy. Drawing on the dualism suggested by its name, Gentle Heat is simultaneously light and intense; creating a sonic space where flickers of post-punk, no wave, and dream pop are awash in a shimmery psychedelic flourishing.
